SAAFC’s Lubo Kocic – Returns to the Field and Looks to Help Team Lift First Indoor Soccer Championship

 In News / Events

Lubo Kocic returned to the field this season and made his 2019 pro return on January 3rd 2019 with his former team, the Rochester Lancers at the IDE Family Field at the Dome Arena in Rochester, New York.

The Rochester Lancers have clinched and are the current Eastern Division Champions of the MASL2. Lubo is accompanying them as they advance into the Final Four Tournament in Ontario, California.

As the President and Coach in San Antonio Athletic FC Lubo is showing his San Antonio based club he is still on top of his game! He first debuted and played for the Rochester Lancers in the 2011-2012 season resulting in a stunning season, 19 goals and 8 assists. This stellar first season resulted in his selection for the US Men’s National Futsal Team the same year.

“It’s very exciting and yet it was a completely an unexpected opportunity to be asked to come back to play on the field with a former team and to know that you are still appreciated so much by the fans after so many years,” said Lubo Kocic. “I look forward to this challenge of bringing a championship back home and celebrating with all the fans and my SA Athletic FC family. It’s thrilling to know that we are in the playoff semi-finals and this weekend the mission is to win it all! This experience and these moments are the ones I wish to share with all of the players I coach and all of the wonderful families in SA Athletic FC.”

At SAAFC we are extremely proud of Lubo and his accomplishments on this field this weekend. We look forward to sharing his next adventure with you all!
